    • Assist in the development and administration of school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives
    • Provide leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extra-curricular activities
    • Promote a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning
    • Assist with preparing class schedules, master schedules and extracurricular activities
    • Provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development
    • Serve as the building leader in the absence of the director
    • Assist in ensuring that Cabot School Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school
    • Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
    • Encourage staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.
    • Assist in coordinating the work of school staff and school district program leaders to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs
    • Serve on the interview committee with the director, or in the absence of the principal, as needed
    • Involve staff in the evaluation of programs and the planning of new programs
    • Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
    • Ensure that student conduct and attendance conforms with the school's standards and school district policies
    • Assist with evaluation and supervision of staff
    • Adhere to all policies of the District and the Arkansas Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators
    • Adhere to all rules and regulations of the Office of Early Childhood and Arkansas Better Chance.
    • Other tasks and responsibilities may be as assigned by the building administrator and other central office administrators, as designated by the Superintendent
    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy for early childhood
    • Knowledge of early childhood curriculum and concepts
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
    • Ability to develop and implement projects
    • Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written form
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and all other stakeholders
    • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
    • Must have early childhood and the appropriate level administrator endorsement on teaching certificate
    • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience required
    • Successful completion of all background checks
    • Position Summary:

      To assist the PK Director in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a school, in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with the Cabot School Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.
