Position Summary:

This role is responsible for helping our youngest Scots develop learning habits and strategies to be successful lifelong learners in a safe and caring environment. We are seeking a Pre-K Assistant teacher for the upcoming academic year (2024-2025). This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Along with the lead teacher assist to-

• supervise students to maintain a safe, nurturing environment

• implementation of our PK curriculum consistent with the unique needs of each child

• support and monitor lunch

• Assist specialists or if students are out of the room at PE, clean tables/toys and help the head teacher with prep work.

• cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with students, families, and teachers.

• follow classroom cleaning routines throughout the day

• encourage and remind students to follow safety protocols as outlined by the school.

• help monitor the children to keep them safe and/or

• organize games/activities

• assist with arrival and dismissal

• other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher preferred

• 40 Hours of DCF Child Care Training and Competency Exams Required

• Experience in an educational field (early childhood education experience preferred)

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, nurturing attitude

• Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive work environment
  

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 25lbs.
