A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (completed or in process)
Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level preferred.
An enthusiasm for working with early childhhood children in their daily activities.
An enthusiasm for working with Kindergarten through 5th-grade students during a high-energy portion of their school day.
Creativity, positivity, flexibility, collaboration skills, and a sense of humor.
An interest in getting to know the Trevor community, with the possibility of longer employment opportunities.
Work closely with Preschool Teachers in managing morning arrival, class work, class play, transitions, and trips to Central Park.
Work attentively and positively to manage students as they navigate lunchtime selection, eating, and clean-up.
Monitor the Early Drop-Off program.

Trevor Day School is seeking a Preschool and Cafeteria Aide for the 2025–2026 school year, who will work 7:30 am–2:30 pm. The Aide’s primary role is supervising our busy cafeteria during Kindergarten–5th-grade lunch, working alongside Homeroom Teachers to keep things calm and organized during this busy time.
The Preschool and Cafeteria Aide’s secondary role is assisting our Threes and Pre-K teachers during classroom activities, transitions, and specialist classes.
The Preschool and Cafeteria Aide will also monitor our Early Drop-Off program, which runs from 7:30 am through 8:15 am, supervising 20–25 mixed-grade students while they engage in quiet, independent activities.

The full-time salary range for this position is $40,000–$53,000 as per the school's salary scale. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity. The school also offers a competitive benefits package.
