- Define the IAM strategy in alignment with enterprise architecture, business requirements and technology roadmaps
- Assist with the DR & DevSecOps strategy in alignment with enterprise architecture, business requirements and technology roadmaps
- Provide technical design and leadership across multiple complex projects with significant impact across technologies
- Partner with Security to ensure design and tools meet our requirements
- Establish best practices when it comes to designing IAM and work with the technical leaders to ensure teams are adhering to the practices.
- Lead and mentor engineers of all levels to continuously reflect and improve, becoming more effective in their roles and increasing their predictability, teamwork, and delivery
- Own major components of the IAM and DR solutions and direct the work of other team members; scaling projects efficiently while maximizing performance and ensuring quality
- Develop proof of concepts and build prototypes for IAM and DR or to optimize existing systems for performance or cost across the organization
- Leverage economic thinking, planning, and leadership skills to influence critical decisions
- Build deep knowledge of end-to-end processes across system and platforms, taking the time to partner with product and business stakeholders to understand product vision and requirements
- Leads technology and vendor analysis and selection
- Self-motivated individual who can handle ambiguous/undefined problems and think abstractly to deliver results
- Maintain an awareness of changing organizational conditions and their impact on strategic objectives, using knowledge to adapt and evolve their approach.
- Lead initiatives of significant impact for company and reach decisions under conditions of uncertainty
- Develop compelling insights and logical arguments to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to business users and other technical teams
- Critical thinking skills (understanding of the relationship between environment, objectives, goals, and priorities that drive optimal decisions)
- Demonstrates executive maturity and ability to communicate at all levels of the company
- Navigates challenging interactions with candor and through constructive debate to build support and commitment for initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information Systems, or related discipline
- Master’s degree preferred
- AWS certifications
- 10+ years platform engineering or architecture experience
- 5+ years’ experience translating broader understanding of the company's strategy and practices to deliver enterprise services
- 7+ years of experience designing CIAM, EIAM, PAM and knowledge of Disaster Recovery solutions within enterprises
- Experience with design and implementation of IAM tools such as OKTA, Yubikey, ForgeRock, BeyondTrust, SailPoint, PingID, CyberArk etc.
- Demonstrated experience in building products, PaaS, SaaS, and multi-tenant deployments
- Ability to rapidly come up to speed on new teams and services to make decisive organizational and technical impact
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills including the ability to seek consensus, provide technical leadership, led by example, exhibit patience and determination.

Role:
Crown Castle’s Data & Digital team has been evolving its capabilities across all technology functions, investing in the team, technology, data, and processes. The Data and Digital team are leading innovation by developing microservice and event- based solutions across products, applications, platforms, and data utilizing open-source technologies in the cloud to drive Crown Castle’s technology evolution.
As a Principal Cloud Engineer, IAM you will provide technical leadership over the research, development, and design of foundational services for Identity Access Management (IAM), CI/CD and Disaster Recovery (DR), with a strong focus on IAM. You will be an engineering and technical leader. You will work across multiple cross-functional resource groups to champion initiatives and develop proof of concepts as a basis of building and deploying services in Data & Digital.
The Principal Cloud Engineer, IAM will design and deliver solutions across SSO, MFA, PKI, CIAM services, as well as foundational security infrastructure concepts across operating systems, networking, and n-tiered architectures. You will be responsible for defining the roadmap and setting the implementation strategy for Authentication Services, architect/solution design. Strong HA/DR, resiliency capabilities for authentication services.

Working Conditions: This is a remote role with the expectation of occasional on-site/in-person collaboration with teammates and stakeholders that may require up to 20% travel.
For New York, Colorado, California and Washington residents - The hiring range offered for this position is $170,000 - $200,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 30% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
