- Provide guidance and technical leadership to clients and colleagues on leading practices, standards, and trends
- Develop and articulate methodologies and detailed scopes of work for proposed and accepted client engagements
- Support and review client deliverables while coordinating closely with the ERM team
- Take primary responsibility for leading the research and analysis on projects. Confer frequently with team members and ERM Partners about first-of-a-kind analyses and discuss provisional/emerging conclusions
- Manage projects (timeline and budget), from initial scoping and client kick off meeting, through project milestones, to final client deliverable, followed by internal capture/sharing of lessons learned
- Manage and mentor junior consultants assigned to your projects/team, with a supportive and positive approach that fosters employee satisfaction as well as high-quality deliverables
- Proactively engage and network with other ERM staff regionally and globally for knowledge sharing, market monitoring, and business development coordination
- Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, research organizations, and opinion leaders
- Help identify, recruit and evaluate junior and peer candidates to join the team
- Participate in business development meetings with clients to amplify ERM credibility on understanding of companies, industries, technologies, markets, and problem-solving approaches
- Increase business development efforts by engaging with potential and existing clients, and supporting and reviewing pitch decks, client background research, and formal proposals
- Excellent personal communication and writing skills

- BA/BSc or Master’s degree in a related discipline such as economics, environmental economics, climate/earth systems science, geography, ecology, atmospheric science, data science, or similar fields
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in senior roles in the field of climate and sustainability, specifically carbon management and accounting
- Expert knowledge of carbon management and accounting methodologies and solutions
- Expert knowledge of science-based target setting and net-zero pathways
- Knowledge of LCA, PCF and PEF
- Knowledge of climate-related impacts, risks and opportunities frameworks and solutions
- Knowledge of the political frameworks and trends around climate mitigation and adaptation
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint (ability to efficiently produce polished, client-ready, well-designed diagrams and decks)
- Excellent writing skills and attention to copy-editing details and
- Fluency in German and English and cross-cultural experience

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in leading the delivery of consulting services and supporting business development on GHG inventories (Scope 1,2 and 3), science-based targets setting and net-zero pathways, providing technical and methodological expertise as well as experience in LCA, PCF and PEF. The candidate will have experience in supporting companies with the transition to a low-carbon economy by identifying and assessing material climate-related impacts, risks and opportunities and developing climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.

At least 5 years’ experience in the fields of carbon management and accounting (Scope 1, 2 and 3), science-based targets setting and net-zero pathways, climate-related impacts, risks and opportunities analysis, and climate mitigation and adaptation strategies as well as profound knowledge in LCA methodology and modelling.
