      About the opportunity

      On a day-to-day basis, the Principal Policy Analyst’s responsibilities will include:

      • working as part of a team to ensure that the Branch’s responsibilities are effectively achieved;
      • undertaking research and analysis of economic, financial, legal and social issues with respect to policy proposals;
      • working with other Tasmanian government agencies and the Commonwealth;
      • monitoring and forecasting economic trends; and
      • preparing written advice to the Treasurer as well as other documents.

      About the Branch

      The primary role of the Economic Policy Branch is to provide high quality advice on a broad range of economic and financial issues. The Branch is also responsible for monitoring the Tasmanian economy and assisting with the analysis and evaluation of policy proposals within a cost-benefit framework.

      Hours per fortnight
