  Northrop Grumman Space Components is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist or Senior Principal Procurement Specialist to join our team. This position will be located on site in East Hartford, CT.
  Responsibilities:
  • Develops RFQ utilizing Specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.
  • Prepares bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates PO provisions, administers resulting PO and ensure on time delivery.
  • Manages performance of Purchase Orders and assigned suppliers, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users.
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management
  • Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  Basic Qualifications:
  • Top Secret or Secret clearance required to start and an ability to work on- site FT
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field preferred and 6 years of experience; 4 years with a Master’s for a level 3
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field preferred and 10 years of experience; 8 years with a Master’s for a level 4
  • 4+ years’ experience in purchasing, subcontracts, or contracts
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated performance, critical thinking and supplier management skills in past projects, roles or experience.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward
  • Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint, Oracle
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience with challenging suppliers and subcontracts / long term agreements
  • Experience procuring in an NPI / concurrent engineering environment
  • Experience in small and complex machining or electronics commodities
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documents
  • Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
  • Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain
  Salary Range: $78,500.00 - $117,700.00Salary Range 2: $97,400.00 - $146,000.00
  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
