      About the job

      The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an experienced developer to join us as a Principal Software Engineer in our GPU and Hardware Accelerator teams. In this role, you will implement and sustain ARM GPU hardware enablement in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for Edge, which involves both GPU graphics and compute support. This effort will include working directly with IHV partners to enable their drivers to work efficiently and effectively with our Linux kernel DRM infrastructure and user-space libraries, such as OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan, Mesa, Wayland and X.org. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

      What you will do

      • Develop and enhance GPU infrastructure for ARM, both kernel and user-space

      • Actively participate in the related upstream Linux communities

      • Backport ARM GPU infrastructure, drivers and fixes to the RHEL releases

      • Enable partner ARM GPU and accelerator devices for use with RHEL for Edge

      • Sustain this support through the life-cycle of the ARM devices and RHEL releases

      What you will bring

      • Fluent in C programming and Linux scripting tools

      • Expertise in Linux kernel development, Mesa and Wayland/X.org

      • Developing drivers for ARM GPU devices

      • Knowledge of Git and upstream Linux kernel processes

      • Familiarity with ARM SystemReady (e.g., SBSA and EBBR) and DeviceTree

      • Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
