      !*!

At AXA Health we have transformed the way the company approaches user experience and product design. From a humble beginning 2 years ago with two UX Designers, our department has grown in leaps in bounds and so has the profile of the work we do. To build on what we’ve achieved to date, we're looking for a talented and ambitious UX Designer to join our team. You'll likely come from a UI focused background, but keen to expand on a foundation of user experience design and user research. We love people who are passionate about and love good design.

As Senior UX Designer, you’ll be an authority on the visual language of our digital experiences and take ownership of the growth, development and evolution of our recently created design systems, implementing brand and the right solutions for our users. You'll work with UX Designers and Researchers across multiple teams, as well as support our wider Marketing & Propositions department, in creating new components, interaction elements and visual assets.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

      What you’ll be doing:

      • Become a key member of our AXA Figma environment
      • Be an advocate for the user and work closely with Product, Development, UX and Marketing
      • Help manage the development, expansion and evolution of our design systems, component libraries and visual language
      • Ensure that our visual language is applied consistently throughout our digital touchpoints and conforms to our digital brand guidelines
      • Act as a mentor for other UX Designers, and help them develop and improve their UI design skills, building out and refining components to use in the user journeys of their assigned product portfolios
      • Work with front end developers to ensure that design system components are included and accurately executed
      • Lead our efforts to ensure that our visual language is not only beautiful, striking and usable, but adheres to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards
      • UI/UX Designer for our consumer facing apps and platforms, supported by UX experts from other Product streams
      • UI designer for design sprints, special projects and concept development
      • Lead and/or play an active role in usability testing of designs and prototypes to ensure our digital touchpoints are intuitive and easy to use

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

      !*!

We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.

      What we’re looking for:

      • Tertiary qualification in a design related field (Highly desirable)
      • Extensive experience in a similar role (Essential)
      • Be able to illustrate a focus on continuous learning and development (Essential)
      • Have excellent knowledge of established design and interaction patterns
      • In-depth understanding of human computer interaction principles and user centred design principles
      • Prototype experience and the ability to wireframe experiences at varying levels of fidelity
      • Experience in setting up and running collaborative design workshops
      • An understanding of development methods and translation of designs to front end teams, including Figma Dev-Mode and Playground
      • Prototyping experience for multiple break points and interactions (Figma)
      • Filming, editing or animation experience

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
