What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prioritize and process incoming Prior Authorization requests in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Collaborate with clinicians and other departments to facilitate timely authorization and financial clearance for patient services
- Maintain accurate documentation of referrals and authorizations within relevant systems
- Address and resolve escalated inquiries from members and providers related to Prior Authorization
- Conduct outreach to patients and providers to gather necessary information for financial clearance and insurance verification
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
- 4-5 years of office experience in a high-volume data entry environment or healthcare administration
- Proficient in using insurance payer websites for verification and authorization processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred
- Experience with Epic systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-9/CPT)
- Previous customer service experience is beneficial
- Ability to process a high volume of requests with a high accuracy rate
