What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately submit claims and follow up with payers to ensure timely processing
- Appeal denials as required to secure payment for services rendered
- Maintain the accuracy of patient financial files, including documentation in both written and electronic formats
- Assist patients and guarantors with claim payment inquiries in accordance with hospital financial policies
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance patient support
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two to three years of prior collection experience
- Experience in medical billing and coding preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Availability for evening hours
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with substance abuse or psychiatric patient populations
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial inquiries and resolve issues effectively
