What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Initiate, process, and oversee the clinical review of prior authorization requests for medications and supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary clinical information
- Submit prior authorization requests accurately and in a timely manner using electronic submission platforms
- Ensure compliance with payer requirements and clinical guidelines throughout the prior authorization process
- Perform all prior authorization functions as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED, or licensed/registered pharmacy technician
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, including sig codes, brand/generic names of medications, and Roman numerals
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Intermediate typing/keyboard skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare-related role
- Familiarity with prior authorization processes and pharmacy benefits
