This role sits in a diverse team reporting to HP’s Director of Privacy Engagement within HP’s Trust and Privacy Office under the Legal organization and has a direct impact to driving compliant and trust-worthy HP solutions. We lead the company’s strategies, policies and assurance for trusted and compliant digital experiences and personal data use. We partner extensively with teams across the company from marketing, sales to software and solutions delivery, and employee management functions.

      Trusted digital interactions are crucial to customer loyalty, both with consumers and commercial enterprises, and external requirements are heating up. Public scrutiny on the role of companies in safeguarding human rights in online and digital contexts is accelerating and, as technology advances to include greater emphasis on artificial intelligence and automated decision making, HP needs to respond.

      This role is essential - it will strategically collaborate across different functions with business leaders, executives, and privacy peers, and see to the integration of privacy-savvy features to enable HP’s digital strategy. It will require a laser focused, results-oriented, business-enabling, thoughtful privacy leader that can drive complex compliance initiatives.       Responsibilities

      • Manage and lead strategic privacy initiatives involving multiple functions and disciplines that affect the organization’s long-term goals and privacy compliance posture.
      • Maintain current knowledge of applicable global privacy laws and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
      • Communicate complex privacy topics and influence compliant, practical solutions to executive audiences.
      • Foster a culture of privacy across business teams and peers.
      • Mentor and guide business stakeholders and privacy advisors with less experience in the field.

      Education And Experience Required

      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quality Management, Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
      • Proven track record of leading large, complex programs/projects.
      • 10+ years of experience working in a privacy role collaborating across several business areas (HR, Product and Services, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Governance, IT, Sales, etc.)
      • Privacy certification such as CIPM, CIPP-E, CIPP-C and/or CIPP-US is required.

      Knowledge And Skills

      • Working knowledge of global privacy and regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, etc.
      • Extensive experience leading privacy transformative initiatives within a highly matrixed corporate and fast-paced environment.
      • Resilient to constant change and comfortable pivoting as business needs and privacy laws arise.
      • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
      • Proven leader and skilled communicator (verbal, written and presentation) demonstrating diplomacy, credibility and confidence.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence without authority.
      • Ability to exercise good judgement and balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations.

      Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $116,000 - $180,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
