      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Perform initial and follow-up reviews of patient records to assign accurate diagnoses and procedures for DRG assignment
      - Query physicians regarding missing or unclear documentation and enhance expertise in query development
      - Educate healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement and maintain knowledge of coding guidelines
      - Collaborate with coding professionals to reconcile DRG assignments and troubleshoot documentation issues
      - Attend department meetings and conduct independent research to stay informed on clinical topics and healthcare trends

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, PA, NP, or medical school, or Associate's degree with CCDS certification
      - Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting or relevant experience
      - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or equivalent professional license
      - Strong understanding of complications, comorbidities, SOI, ROM, and their impact on billing
      - Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in clinical documentation improvement and familiarity with healthcare economics
      - Additional certifications or advanced practice licenses in nursing or physician assistance
      - Knowledge of third-party models for mortality review and risk adjustment
      - Experience in conducting independent research related to clinical documentation and coding
