      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Perform concurrent analytical reviews of clinical and coding data to improve physician documentation
      - Conduct initial and follow-up reviews of patient records for accurate DRG assignment and documentation
      - Query physicians regarding documentation discrepancies and educate the healthcare team on guidelines
      - Collaborate with coding professionals to ensure the accuracy of diagnostic and procedural data
      - Attend department meetings and conduct research to stay updated on clinical topics and coding guidelines

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, PA, NP, or medical school, or Associate's degree with CCDS certification
      - Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting or relevant experience
      - Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or applicable professional licensing in the state of work location
      - Strong understanding of clinical documentation improvement and coding guidelines
      - Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and frequent use of vision and hearing

      - Experience in clinical documentation improvement within a healthcare setting
      - Additional certifications or advanced practice licenses in relevant fields
      - Familiarity with healthcare economics and coding regulations
      - Proven ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and coding professionals
      - Continued education in clinical topics and documentation standards
