Job Description
- Req#: R0008626
- A 4th Class Power (Operating) Engineer Certification ticket or higher
- Proven mechanical aptitude to perform the hands-on operation of plant equipment
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ensure the safety of people, equipment, and the environment and that plant policies are adhered to
- Learn all operating units within the assigned area of the facility and progress in increasing levels of responsibility at the site
- Report and appropriately flag all plant-related issues beyond your scope to your leader
- Prepare and complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings in a timely manner
- Provide direction and oversee maintenance and contract personnel as required
- Maintain housekeeping at a high level to ensure a safe work environment
- You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
- The shift schedule is a 12-hour rotation of days and nights (three on, three off)
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to adhere to our clean-shaven policy and perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
- You will be subject to a six-month probationary period and represented by the Sarnia employees' bargaining association (SEBA) upon completion of your probationary period
