Job Description

- Procures materials through manufacturers and/or their designated representatives, OEM’s, and other suppliers as necessary.
- Expedites purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and acceptable supplier performance.
- Ability to maintain acceptable inventory levels within guidelines while providing for an uninterrupted flow of materials.
- Responsible for the negotiation of price and best overall cost position, terms, and delivery of all manufacturing and MRO sourced items.
- Maintains ITEM master file data for primary and secondary vendors, vendor part numbers, lead times, cost structures, unit of measure and pricing discounts/structure.
- Maintains current and accurate hard copy records as appropriate
- Uses system tools available to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Reviews and analyzes the MRP exception report and works to resolve open issues with the vendor and the specific internal SATS department/area affected.
- Plans material requirements based upon analysis of MRP recommendations, as well as closely coordinates with Sales, Engineering, Production/Planning, Maintenance and Marketing departments to ensure forecasting accuracy, alignment and fit.
- Understands and utilizes basic purchasing tools such as blanket PO’s, standing orders, bonded inventory, contract pricing.
- BS or BA degree in related field preferred
- 3 – 5 years of Purchasing or Inventory Control/Materials Management experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills.
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of the SATS business model and understand the role and impact of procurement in that model
- Must have previous MRP experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, teambuilding, and interpersonal skills necessary.
- Must be detail oriented
- Strong administrative and organizational skills are essential.
- CPIM, CPM, or APICS certification a plus.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
- Basic math skills required.
