WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for an expert in CFD to join a small CAE team within Durability and Robustness, responsible for developing leading edge CFD methods to support full vehicle multi-phase CFD wading simulations and use these methods to support all our vehicle programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Support the continual development of CFD tools and techniques which enhance our capabilities and improve the quality and robustness of our simulations.
• Use engineering and problem-solving skills to identify the best CAE solution for a given task or problem and develop the appropriate tools.
• Run Wading simulations, summarise and present results.
• Coordinate and lead projects including the feedback of results as required through design / project reviews.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As a Senior CFD engineer you will need to hold a relevant formal qualification such as degree or time served apprenticeship within mechanical engineering or similar.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Thorough knowledge and experience of CFD (Using STAR-CCM or similar software)
• Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges.
• Previous experience of full vehicle and system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets.
• Experience in working practices relating to CAE methods and processes.
• Competent in the use of Programming Languages or scripting (Fortran, C++, Java, Python or similar)
• Previous experience of supporting engineering or analytical projects
• Project and people management skills.
