      Position Summary:

      Our Construction Project Specialist (Laboratory) is responsible for the sales of casework and laboratory equipment products, serving customers engaged in laboratory construction or renovation, across academic, pharmaceutical, biomedical, government and other fields of research and development. The ideal candidate excels in establishing relationships, developing opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assuring market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end user within assigned territory
      • Maintain 100% compliance with distribution agreements with all entities sourcing Thermo Fisher products
      • Manages and participates in resolution for conflicting terms and conditions to increase transactional opportunities and lessen future legal risks.
      • Directs the work flow and is responsible for understanding the responsibilities of manufacturing, installers, engineering firms, contractor/sub and end users to ensure drawing compliance and needs of the end user/researcher.
      • Act as the primary point of contact with internal teams supporting the project, including Accounts Receivable, Finance, Pricing, Legal, IT, Proposal Writers and Sales.
      • Utilize appropriate software for lead generation to initiate engagement with A&E Firms (Architectural and Engineering) or with Prime Contractors to have Thermo Fisher products spec'd in to Scopes of Work
      • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business; Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
      • Independently make decisions, but also apply available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources
      • Collaborate with strategic supplier partners to hand over leads when appropriate
      • Responsible for sales and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory
      • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new rules/regulations and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan
      • Manage pricing within territory to control profitability
      • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory
      • Communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems; perform other tasks assigned by manager
      • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

      Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
      • 5+ years of meaningful professional experience, preferably in sales, laboratory construction, engineering, project management, or business.
      • Bachelor's degree, preferably in the sciences or construction technology
      • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
      • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
      • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
      • Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred
      • Willing to travel to customer locations less than 15%

      • Must work with individuals representing other divisions and companies with multiple objectives to offer one single solution to the end user customer.
