- 7pm - 7am
- Manage, direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality
- Supervises 10-50 employees
- Coordinates with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees
- Plans, assigns & directs work
- Appraises performance
- Rewards & disciplines employees
- Addresses complaints & resolves problems
- Ensures all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis
- Supports & improves upon Quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals
- Ensures safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessary
- High school diploma required and BA/BS degree preferred (business, engineering)
- 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well in group situations
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Data based Problem Solving experience using tools such as A3’s, Fishbone Diagrams, Cause and Effect and Pareto Graphs
- SAP experience preferred
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk for up 4 hours at a time and safely work in a fast paced manufacturing environment on 12 hour shifts

Position Overview
The Production Shift Leader facilitates the development of high performance teams within the plants and ensures the team's execution of standard work and compliance with our base systems for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The PSL creates a culture of engagement within and between the teams to directly impact and consistently meet plant objectives and deliverables. This position ensures that high performance teams work collaboratively in the decision making processes and that the decisions are in alignment with plant goals and objectives, OSHA requirements and current Human Resources (HR) guidelines. People engagement and involvement are critical in creating and sustaining a high performance team culture; therefore the Shift Leader will be responsible for leading by example and foster the development of individuals.

Responsibilities
Plant Floor Supervision– Partners with HR in the hiring, training and performance management process for hourly workers on the shift. Ensures that new hires understand the role expectations, how the role aligns to the vision and direction of the company, and the performance goals and measurements used. Oversees and manages the new hire training process, and ensures that new hire training is completed to a satisfactory level. Leverages established performance management, employee development, and disciplinary process to get the best out of people. Prioritizes and assigns tasks and performs assessments of daily work area to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment :

The compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,000 - $75,000/year.
