Production Stage Manager

Full-Time Position

We are looking for our next Production Stage Manager to join our team! The main objective of this role is to ensure a consistently high standard of show quality; including but not limited to artistic and acrobatic elements, music and choreography, lighting and sound design, and costumes. This role combines the skills of stage management and artistic direction. The ideal candidate with have direct experience and superior competencies in both disciplines.

The Production Stage Manager will have the opportunity to:

· Ensure the show meets and maintains a high-quality standard;

· Contribute to acrobatic evolution of the show and integrate of act improvements;

· Watch and maintain focus on the current state of the show;

· Call the show and manage backstage tracks, if needed;

· Provide timely performance feedback (show notes)and conduct Talent Dialogues with Artists and Stage Managers;

· Implement and follow up on technical adjustments and modifications to various components of the show;

· Integrate new artists and reintegrate artists returning to the show,

· Prepare and schedule covers, understudies, and back-up acts;

· Collaborate with Senior Artistic Director and casting department to select new Artists;

· In conjunction with the Technical Director, manage daily show operations and maintain emergency measures during the performance;

· Plan, schedule and facilitate Tapis Rouge, training sessions, rehearsals, department meetings (including artistic, performance medicine and coaching, technical) and unique events;

· Identify and address performance deficiencies with coaching and corrective action;

· Oversee projects to ensure successful completion and with the support and involvement of the appropriate show departments;

· Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.

What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what’s needed to be successful in this position:

· Ability to articulate performance expectations and expertly deliver constructive feedback;

· Sound artistic knowledge (preferably) of Cirque du Soleil operated shows;

· An instinct for spotting new talent with diversity, inclusion, and culture at top of mind;

· A natural collaborator who leads by example;

· Fluent in English, both written and spoken; French is an asset;

· Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 USD/year.

This range is location-specific and compensation in other geographies may vary. Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided upon elements related, but not limited to: skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

** Please note: This position is required to be on-site in Hawai’i. There will be no relocation assistance provided for this position.**
