      The Professional Education & Development Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing professional education programs in Alcon. This role aims to enhance the competency of healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and internal teams. The Professional Education Manager will develop and execute strategic learning initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous education and clinical excellence. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this position contributes to the overall success of our products and customers and reinforces our commitment to advancing patient outcomes through education and expertise in the medical field.

      In this role, a typical day will include:

      • Conduct regular co-travels, attend customer meetings, and actively participate in Clinical Training Programs (CBT) to support and enhance clinical training of the field associates.
      • Proactively collaborate with customers to design tailored clinical training events that align with individual business needs while effectively promoting the Alcon brand and Address and fulfill customer training needs related to Alcon brands and facilitate smooth launches of new products, ensuring that customers are well-versed with product features and benefits.
      • Develop innovative workshops, lectures, and training materials, utilizing interactive and online facilities, with a focus on healthcare professionals and the sales team..
      • Develop a strategy for Alcon Vision Care activities with optometric schools and universities. Lead the execution of this strategy, implementing Alcon's presence and fostering relationships.
      • Adapt the materials coming from regional Professional education team and deliver compelling presentations, covering both generic category growth and brand-specific content, to support business goals in the UK.
      • Represent Alcon in professional communities and industry events such as BCLA, AOP etc. conveying brand messages and gathering valuable customer feedback.
      • Provide advice to customers and consumers as required, leveraging expertise to address queries and concerns.
      • Undertake any other duties or projects as requested by the Line Manager, in line with the grade and level of responsibility for this role and based on the associate's experience and training.

      What you will bring to Alcon:

      • University degree qualification or equivalent in Optometry or Contact Lens fitting as minimum with an MBA or post graduate /advanced degree qualification in a clinical, business or marketing speciality or a related field preferred
      • Proven marketing management experience in big multinational companies
      • Knowledge and experience of UK Optometric practice and industry
      • Track record of consistently achieving desired goals and outcomes in an BTB environment
      • Experience of cross-functional working within a matrix environment
      • Proven experience in developing and establishing successful key relationships and delivering excellent standards of customer service
      • Proven planning and implementation skills and experience
      • Proven project management skills which demonstrate flexibility/an ability to adjust to changing customers’ needs
      • Commercial awareness/business acumen of the vision care market and or pharmaceutical industry; knowledge and understanding of products, services and marketplace – desired
