Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation is the umbrella organization that supports the activities of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, The Ailey School, Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs and the Ailey Extension.
Creative Advisor
The role of a Creative Advisor is to cultivate a relationship with assigned choreographer by attending scheduled auditions and rehearsals and offering advice and feedback at various points during the Lab Residency. It is a requirement to meet with the assigned choreographer at least once before the Lab Residency begins attend the audition, a minimum of one rehearsal per week and to attend both the First Lab Showing and the Final Lab Showing. In addition, you must write a weekly progress report and a 1-2 page reflection about your experience as a Creative Advisor, including observations about the assigned choreographer's work and process over the course of the Lab Residency.
