      Job Description

      Arista Networks is seeking candidates to join the Professional Services (Software Services) team as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or a Network Operation Center (NOC) Engineer. This team is a global team of engineers working to deliver and operate high quality and robust software to help Arista's customers achieve their goals and solve real-life networking problems.

      The SRE and NOC Engineer roles are true “DevOps” roles in that the successful candidate must be experienced in software development and operations, and be able to transition effortlessly between these two disciplines. These roles involve working with a highly automated global network deployment, therefore experience writing software is essential.

      There are 2 main areas of focus involved in these roles:

      • Automation and testing: Using the latest automation techniques and tools

      • Cloud services: Implementing and operating scalable, flexible and cloud agnostic solutions for internal and external customers

      Arista is seeking candidates ideally based in/near:

      • Richmond Metro, USA

      • Chester, UK

      • Singapore

      Please note that exceptional candidates in other locations will be considered.

      Qualifications

      • PhD, Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

      • Familiarity with writing Python or Golang (e.g. creating novel automations from scratch, developing in-house tooling to assist with operations activities, or working on large-scale software projects)

      • Experience with CI platforms (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab)

      • Experience with container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and service orchestration (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)

      • Understanding of IP networking

      • Experience with Unix or Linux

      • Personable with excellent communication skills

      • Great problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

      • Keen intellect with willingness to keep learning and developing

      Desirable

      • Comfortable working in all phases of software development life cycle

      • Familiarity with Cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, and Azure)

      • Experience with data center networking, management and orchestration

      • Experience with operating services in production environments

      • Experience of working closely with customer operations teams
