      • Position Summary
        • This position is for someone interested in becoming a member of the MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR) Staff Services team, based in Scarborough, ME and operating with a flexible work schedule. The Staff Services Team contributes to the MaineHealth research mission by providing people operations support for 300+ MHIR researchers, staff, and learners. Our team works together, and is specifically tasked with:
          • Accurately troubleshooting & recording a multitude of employee timekeeping and personnel change scenarios and questions each week
          • Supporting managers with succession planning, job postings, interviewing, hiring, and visa applications
          • Onboarding & off-boarding employees, non-employee learners & collaborating scientists to MHIR
          • Planning & facilitating some of the employee engagement initiatives at MHIR: a monthly VP Open Forum, a monthly Full Staff Meeting, and several annual social events
          • Providing Front Desk coverage for guests & packages at MHIR’s 81 Research Drive location
        • The person in this position will perform both administrative and professional duties in support of MHIR, as described below. They will be responsible for prioritizing their day-to-day tasks, working in close alliance with the Staff Services Manager and other team members, to facilitate and maximize our projects. This person will assure all program-related activities are carried out successfully and in a timely manner, will act as a liaison with all levels of staff, and also be a liaison to the greater MaineHealth community.

      • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
        1. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
        2. Experience: See "Education." Approximately one to two years related work experience.
        3. License/Certifications: N/A
        4. Knowledge of project management, and educational practices.
        5. Basic knowledge of healthcare systems, with previous experience in healthcare industry and customer service preferred.
        6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including drafts of correspondence and other written materials.
        7. Strong software and computer skills, including Microsoft Office (including Power Point, Access, and Excel), database development and website development, Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
        8. Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings.
        9. Analytical ability to gather and interpret data in situation where the problems are moderately complex.
        10. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
