      The Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating, engaging in, and providing oversight of projects, budgets, processes, and the policies and procedures essential to the success of global and departmental programs.

      Overview:


      The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for dynamic professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

      The Program Specialist is responsible for:

      • Supporting planning, coordination and follow up of implementation for transversal, global, and project-based initiatives including, but not limited to, pediatric oncology, population science, dissemination and implementation science, and quality improvement.

      • Contributing actively to design and support coordination of education, training, and implementation of quality improvement and research projects.

      • Facilitating communication between global collaborators and Global Critical Care Team involved in implementation, education and research initiatives.

      • Applying standardized tools, frameworks, and metrics to monitor progress and ensure execution of project deliverables.

      • Coordination of in-person and online meetings, workshops, and other educational activities (such as conducting regional and site visits to partner institutions) with global collaborators, including preparation of agendas, summary reports, meeting facilitation, and serving as a liaison to the logistics team.

      • Developing strong working relationships with partners both at St. Jude and key global collaborator sites.

      • Support Onboarding and training of the Transversal Program stakeholders, project teams and research students

      • Working with team members across sites to ensure timely accomplishment of project milestones.

      • Assisting with evaluation of site financial needs

      • Assisting with grant preparation and tracking of grant related research activities

      • Assisting with data analysis and writing of manuscripts and reports; prepare and deliver presentations,

      • Serve as a liaison with other members of GPM/SJG and its collaborators to ensure coordination of initiatives and departmental requirements.

      • Traveling nationally and internationally for site visits, conferences, and workshops (travel estimate 8-10 trips per year, 20-25% of the time)

      Minimum Education

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

      • Master's degree is preferred.

      Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

      • Shows a general understanding of the customer needs and program objectives.

      • Exhibits basic grasp of project management process like scoping, scheduling, milestones, reporting, tools (MS project, etc.), and templates to support program planning and coordination.

      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

      • Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and multiple shifting priorities.

      • Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision.

      • Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner.

      • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

      • Adaptable problem-solving skills, able to analyze and synthesize new information quickly.

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite

      • Cultural sensitivity is a must.

      • Fluency in a second language (Spanish, Portuguese and/or French) highly preferred

      Minimum Experience:

      • Minimum of 1+ year(s) experience in program coordination.

      • Some experience/knowledge in working with project planning tools like MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office is a plus.

      • Healthcare, Research and/or quality improvement background preferred.

      Compensation

      In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $60,320 - $105,040 per year for the role of Program Specialist, Global Critical Care Program.
