      We are currently looking for a Project Management Lead, Business Ramp-up, based out of St. Thomas, ON

      Our mission has started. Volkswagen Group’s largest cell factory in St. Thomas will carry out all battery activities – from processing raw materials to developing a unified Volkswagen battery to managing the European and North American gigafactories. Headquartered in Salzgitter, Germany, we are experiencing the transformation of mobility up close. Our goal is to contribute a positive impact to our global society, the environment and the economy.       For the ramp-up phase of our North American operations, we are looking for a passionate Project Management Lead, Business Ramp-up who will be responsible for leading, organizing, tracking, and reporting on the status and progress of the ramp-up phase within the company and at the board level. This role will also be expected to assist in identifying risks and driving solutions to keep the progress on track. In this function the Project Management Lead, Business Ramp-up directly reports to the Senior Director, Interim CFO of the company.


      This is a fully onsite role, based out of the St. Thomas office

      Primary Responsibilities

      • Define program scope, objectives, and milestones for the ramp-up of PowerCo SE and associated plants.
      • Lead overall program management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
      • Collaborate closely with PMOs at headquarters in Germany to synchronize efforts and maximize efficiency.
      • Develop and manage cross-functional plans, working with internal teams and external vendors to define requirements and timelines.
      • Facilitate end-to-end scoping and estimation, managing logistical dependencies, and providing critical information to the PMO team.
      • Coordinate ERP implementation teams according to business objectives and maintain alignment, even amidst ambiguity and aggressive deadlines.
      • Ensure internal alignment within PowerCo SE regarding ERP landscape and strategy.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop strategies for governance, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.
      • Leverage synergies with other PMO team members to optimize project outcomes.
      • Establish practice standards, priorities, and schedules to drive operational excellence.
      • Generate reports and presentations to support business requirements, analyzing key metrics, and providing insights.
      • Manage and steer the Global Business Ramp-up for all involved entities, including PowerCo Spain, PowerCo NAR, Equipment Co, and the Joint Venture with Umicore.
      • Maintain global program control and resource management to ensure efficient operations.
      • Ensure vertical integration of new entities into the PowerCo SE operating model.
      • Standardize frameworks across all PowerCo SE units to ensure consistency and comparability.
      • Establish central business processes, IT systems, and rules/regulations in collaboration with functional management.
      • Make necessary program decisions or act as the final escalation gate before PowerBoard involvement.
      • Deliver high-quality project work to meet the requirements of PowerCo SE.
      • Perform other duties related to this role and required for a successful ramp-up but may not be currently identified.

      • Ability to instill a sense of urgency in others.
      • Ability to take charge and cut through 'noise' amidst distractions and competing opinions.

      Qualifications

      • Project Management Certifications, such as PMP, PgMP, CAPM, Six Sigma Certificate or comparable are considered an asset
      • 7+ Years of professional experience in project and IT implementation management, either as a consultant or in house, within large organizations
      • Expert-level knowledge of Project Management associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches
      • Proven success collaborating with senior business leaders and adding value through the delivery of ERP/ IT solutions that improve workforce capability and organizational performance while protecting the interests of the Company.
      • Previous experience driving large-scale projects and programs from start to finish within highly complex operating environments
      • ERP/ IT Implementations experience strongly desired or equivalent experience
      • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Collaborate and coordinate to effectively train others and communicate with teams across the organization
      • Ability to travel within Ontario, as well as internationally (~15%)
      • Ability to maintain flexible work hours to account for time zone differences with Europe, when necessary
      • Overtime may be required to meet ramp-up deadlines
