- Driving the delivery of the contracts and/or packages within their area to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.
- Monitoring and managing the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
- Applying quality processes in line with the HPC Integrated Management System and ensure the principles of quality management are implemented
- Accountability for Strategic Supplier and Contractor performance and the for the delivery of Engineering and Design activities.
- Defining the strategic approach, where appropriate, to work scopes and secure stakeholder approval liaising with the Head of the Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing Team.
- Securing the required delivery resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
- Maintaining effective communications with all project team members, all stakeholders and execute the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
- Driving the delivery of the bulk contracts after signature of contract (SoC) to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.
- Anticipating, managing, and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop, and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues.
- Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, or other related field.
- Experience of managing and engaging stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment – ideally including NEC contracts.
- Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
- Working knowledge of French language an advantage.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
- Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.

The Opportunity…
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors (European Pressurised Water Reactor-EPR), the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
As the Piping Project Manager, you will be accountable for the direction and leadership of all day-to-day activities associated with the full life cycle (design, manufacture & supply, plus construction where applicable) delivery of the contracts or work packages assigned to them, ensuring planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs and the baseline of the Project.
You will be managing work in the range of £1m to £100m in value in the Piping discipline and interface directly with senior leaders and executives in Strategic Supplier organisations, can have direct reports (Assistant Project Managers) – plus a matrix team of other disciplines forming the project delivery team. It will include interaction with EDF in France and/or with the MEH Alliance although will still operate in a matrix management structure.
