      OPEN POSITION: Associate Project Manager

As part of the Evotec integrated R&D continuum, the Global Drug Development Business Unit (GDD) provides API and Drug Product Development and Manufacturing, Preclinical and IND enabling GLP/GMP programs.

      GDD interacts also with the Integrated Drug Discovery Business Units (IDD) to support seamless and successful transition of drug candidates to preclinical and clinical development phases. Discovery and development of drug besides the small molecules, is increasingly oriented to molecule of biotechnological origin with a significant diversification of the drug candidate portfolio. In this evolving situation, Scientific Excellence and Quality Excellence of GDD must be achieved also in the new modalities Evotec is entering.

      The Global Portfolio Management Office, Drug Development, is a highly-functional, purpose-built team encompassing Project Management (PM), Center of Methodology Office (CMO) and Project Management Office (PMO) sub-teams, which work together to drive the Evotec business portfolio within the GDD sector. With use of best-in-class project management methodologies, the Project Management team is responsible for delivering value for our external Partners, as well as driving internal strategic portfolio across global GDD sites.

      In line with the current needs of the business, we are seeking a highly motivated Associate Project Manager to join our PM team in Abingdon (Oxfordshire) site.

      The role and responsibilities

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manages stand-alone and low difficulty integrated projects; supports in the management of integrated programs.
      • Ensures timely escalation of potential issues to Line Manager or nominated deputy, as appropriate.
      • Contributes to the proposal preparation by developing the most appropriate project plan, ensures that the correct timelines are set to meet project scope, and invoice schedule, to guarantee the appropriate cash-flow. Assists in the negotiations to improve company profitability.

      General/Technical:

      • Ensures a consistent approach across all departments, supporting Operations, Project Management and Business Development (BD) to offer a high-quality customer service by using approved processes and templates.
      • Participates in the change order process (as the voice of the client) to ensure the appropriate timelines and invoice schedule are offered.
      • Manages client project meetings throughout the overall project lifecycle, ensures communication flow is clearly defined, issues a communication plan and contact matrix.
      • Establishes budget baseline, monitors the project budget and is accountable for all milestones in the systems for invoicing and revenue recognition (including Fee For Service).
      • Ensures that that changes to project scope are properly raised and managed (internally and with client) to effectively capture revenue/billing.
      • Conducts a full or phased project review to ensure project deliverables are met and all financial aspects completed.
      • Liaises with Planning, Contract & Data Management team, along with business services and technical teams to support capacity and project planning process.
      • Supports BD in getting requests for proposal for repeat business.
      • Liaises with BD and Operations for additional scope of work and for potential future opportunities.

      Qualifications, competences and abilities for the role

      • Experience: 0-2 years as Project Manager.
      • Understanding and knowledge of project management methodologies and their application within the Life sciences sector.
      • Proactive and organised approach, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
      • Client facing skills.
      • Ability to communicate and work with personnel at all levels.
      • Knowledge of Evotec key business services, contract development / research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Understanding of processes, technical issues, requirements of all the individual business and service lines, as well as Evotec’s integrated offering and how they interact with each other is a plus.
      • Networking ability.
      • Flexibility in adjusting to a rapidly changing workload and attitude to provide support to PM colleagues.
      • Ability to support change in processes and responsibilities as a result of process improvement initiatives.
