- Develop and strengthen BAE Systems’ relationships with HMG in relation to its application of Protective Security policy and regulatory/contractual security requirements to industry
- Coordinate effective external stakeholder engagement with HMG in relation to government Protective Security Policy requirements for the defence industry, including on matters related to cyber security, personnel security and physical security
- Ensure BAE Systems is in a position to advocate for effective contractual and regulatory security approaches for the defence industry by establishing appropriate relationships, communications and interaction with the Ministry of Defence and other HMG departments
- Maintain excellent awareness of new and emerging security related regulations and policy changes, undertaking horizon scanning to identify any changes in the Protective Security landscape which may affect BAE Systems including legislation, government contracting, external standards (e.g. updates to NIST/ISO etc.)
- Coordinate impactful Company responses to new HMG policy proposals through written responses, verbal briefings and attendance at working groups/fora
- Ensure the Company provides a coordinated response to HMG policy initiatives through effective collaboration amongst key internal stakeholders across Security, Group IM&T, Legal, Commercial and Supply Chain
- Establish internal working groups and chair focused policy development workshops with internal subject matter experts (SMEs)
- Ensure Company approaches to, and interpretations of, HMG security requirements are clear and understood across the Company through formal briefings and updates to internal policies and standards
- Enhanced understanding of HMG’s (His Majesties Government) contractual and regulatory frameworks covering the defence industry
- Understanding of UK Government security and procurement structures and processes
- Experience of working with, and influencing, relevant industry and professional bodies (e.g. TechUK)
- Knowledge of Protective Security risk management concepts including cyber, personnel and physical security practices
