      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Support the execution of strategic communications initiatives within the Public Affairs Department
      - Manage the district's digital presence, including website, social media, and email communications
      - Coordinate community outreach and engagement activities to build flood awareness and support district initiatives
      - Assist in developing and implementing communications strategies for various projects, ensuring consistent public messaging
      - Serve as a Public Information Officer during emergencies, managing communications and media inquiries

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience in marketing, communications, public policy, or a related field
      - 2-5 years of directly related experience in public affairs, community engagement, or communications
      - Proficiency in standard business software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
      - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
      - Knowledge of project management best practices and public participation methodologies

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in community engagement or public education initiatives related to flood safety or environmental issues
      - Familiarity with digital marketing tools and strategies, including social media management
      - Previous work experience with government agencies or public sector organizations
      - Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
      - Understanding of budgeting practices and principles in a public context
