What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide direct customer service via phone to Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) applicants
- Explain program requirements, application procedures, and verification needs
- Address questions regarding the WFTC program and refer customers to additional services as necessary
- Ensure limited English proficient clients receive properly translated forms and services
- Assist individuals and organizations that work with WFTC applicants
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing direct customer service by phone and in person
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to handle phone calls and provide translation services
- Strong analytical skills to process applications and assist with eligibility determination for the WFTC
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and communication
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks while managing interruptions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 9 months of experience as a Public Benefits Specialist 2
- An associate's degree or higher
- Experience in a call center environment
- Experience working within a benefits program
