      Hourly base pay rate is $19.18 - $28.80/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

      Job Description

      Cox Communications' Public Affairs team is seeking a curious, motivated Public Relations Intern to join our team for the summer of 2024. This internship offers a unique opportunity for a current student with an interest in communications, PR, and media relations to earn hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate environment.

      Responsibilities:

      Media Monitoring and Analysis: Assist in monitoring media coverage and industry trends, compiling reports, and analyzing data to identify opportunities and challenges.

      Content Creation: Contribute to the development of press releases, media pitches, social media content, and other written materials to support PR campaigns and initiatives.

      Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of media events, press conferences, and community outreach activities, including logistics coordination and on-site assistance.

      Research and Insight Generation: Research relevant topics, competitors, and market trends to inform PR strategies and messaging.

      Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with members of the PR team and cross-functional partners to execute projects, share ideas, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

      Qualifications:

      • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Curiosity and eagerness to learn
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms.
      • Tendency to think big and dive deep.
      • Be conscientious.

      Requirements:

      • Currently enrolled in a related degree program such as public relations, journalism, English, marketing, corporate communications and/or related field.
      • Internship positions are located in Atlanta, GA; Cox Enterprises does not provide a housing allowance.
      • Efficient executor and team player.
      • Able to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high-quality deliverables.

      Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
