PUBLIC UTILITIES ANALYST 1
Finance and Regulatory Analysis SectionJob Location: Address: 1200 W. Washington, Phoenix, AZ
Posting Details: Anticipated Hiring Rate: $22 - $28 per hour, depending upon applicable experience
Grade: 20
Job Summary: The Utilities Division recommends thoroughly researched, sound regulatory policy and rate recommendations to the Commissioners, based on a balanced analysis of the benefits and impacts on all stakeholders and consistent with the public interest.
Job Duties: - Learn audit procedures and apply them in performing regulatory audits on small water and wastewater companies
- Make recommendations to the Commission related to the establishment of just and reasonable rates to be used in billing customers for utility services
- Analyze financing and other applications and make recommendations to the Commission
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Summarize findings in written reports
- Meet filing deadlines
- Present at Open Meetings
- Review compliance filings post decisionKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): - Ability to analyze economic and financial data using various statistical methods
- Strong writing skills to prepare reports, memos, orders and letters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word and Excel)
- Ability to effectively and clearly present written and oral testimony in formal proceedingsSelective Preference(s): Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics or similar field is preferred
