      QA Tester Lead

      Job Summary:

      The QA Tester Lead will “lead” the testing effort for multiple applications or products through the testing cycle. The QA Lead will execute test plans on pre-release/release versions of applications or products to detect, record and evaluate product defects. This position requires a solid understanding of testing life cycles, experience with a variety of testing techniques, and strong written and organizational skills. The QA Lead will act as a conduit for their QA team for the project they are assigned to, ensuring an effective and organized test process that releases the highest quality product possible, and completing these projects on time and within budget.

      What you will do:

      • Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers
      • Attend meetings with stakeholders and communicate QA needs and concerns
      • Create project test plans, test cases, and reports with production, development, and QA leaders
      • Coordinate with Quality Engineers to identify and prioritize test areas in need of automation
      • Monitor test automation runs and troubleshoot failed executions
      • Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality
      • Keep proper documentation and audit trails regarding action taken against reported bugs, production requests and developer communications
      • Check the bug database contents, bug reports, and test suites
      • Develop, enact, and manage testing schedules, ensuring that the QA team meets expectations and deadlines
      • Train and evaluate testing resources including vendors
      • Review and approve QA relevant project milestones and releases
      • Determine risks in the testing process and develop mitigation plans
      • Owns the end-to-end quality assurance process

      Required Qualifications & Skills:

      • 4+ years of experience
      • 2 years QA Sr Tester experience
      • Leadership and coaching skills
      • Experience working in an Agile Development methodology
      • Proficient with Jira and XRay or similar bug tracking database
      • Develop creative testing procedures and materials
      • Communicate a positive and outgoing approach to Quality Assurance
      • Give and accept positive as well as constructive feedback
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to handle high pressure situations and prioritize multiple tasks
      • Accounting knowledge (understanding royalties, credits, debits, actuals, and accruals)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Coding and programming experience
      • Strong project management skills
      • Solid knowledge of the Disney Brand
      • Experience using SAP
      • Developing and/or running automated tests

      Required Education

      • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

      Preferred Education

      • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
      • Relevant testing certification such as ISTQB or CSTE

      The hiring range for this position in Glendale California is $69,800-$87,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
