Job Description
- Req#: 1884250
- Complete the credit re-underwrite on all loan files pursuant to AUS findings or manual loan approvals to ensure the validity of the original underwriting decision and that each file conforms to current quality control objectives
- Verify the existence, accuracy, and completeness of origination documents
- Analysis of property appraisal to determine if value is supported and property meets all eligibility requirements
- Provide feedback on loan quality to the Quality Control Manager and Compliance Officer
- Ensure quality control reviews are completed within acceptable risk parameters
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, investor and agency guidelines
- Completes reviews and performs quality control evaluation of underwriting for loans selected on policy criteria
- Communicate decisions to all parties and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Investigate responses and rebuttals to resolve critical/noncritical issues
- Review internal audit results; discuss with QC Manager and Compliance Officer
- Quality assurance monitoring of Loan Officer phone calls
- Quality assurance review on approved criteria loans
- Alert management to patterns of deficiencies with respect to process and personnel
- Assist with determining the root cause of deficiencies and identifying weaknesses
- Direct Endorsement (DE) certification
- Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SAR) certification
- Eight plus years of mortgage underwriting experience
- Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and federal regulatory guidelines and procedures
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Analytical skills and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate with others in a team setting
- Acute attention to detail and ability to multitask
Description
The QC Underwriter/Correspondent is responsible for evaluating loan quality based on existing underwriting guidelines and documentation and other information provided in the loan file.
