      OVERVIEW As a Quality Engineer I, you will be responsible for championing plant and supplier food safety, leading critical FSQ programs, participating in audits and ensuring regulatory compliance, performing risk assessments, and working with both internal and external partners to ensure the safety of General Mills’ products and processes. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop networking, communication and influencing skills, a deep technical expertise of food safety and quality, and be immersed in the manufacturing environment where our products become what you see on the shelves. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide FSQ leadership & direction in areas of assigned ownership for regulatory compliance, processing, sanitation, hold order management, defect handling and food safety. Provide plant technical support for R&D and new product start-ups. Manage food safety and training within the facility as needed. Partner with operations, maintenance, sanitation and engineering to continuously reduce risk within the plant. Leverage Continuous Improvement strategies and tools to drive ongoing improvements to food safety and operational execution Provide risk assessment analysis and manage issues with non-conforming materials &/or finished products to assure proper control, minimize losses and implement processes to eliminate/prevent future occurrences Collect, analyze and interpret in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations. Ensure the facility meets all GMI/regulatory, sanitation, and product safety guidelines. Support FSRA by conducting food safety & sanitation inspections, providing leadership in RMP initiatives and SOP verification program. Ensure the facility meets all GMP, HACCP, regulatory, sanitation, and product safety guidelines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, Material Science or related field Results oriented self-starter who has the ability to prioritize workload while meeting commitments Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to apply engineering principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding of product quality, sensory, and food safety Demonstrated leadership and initiative Ability to manage cross platform projects and be comfortable with ambiguity Manufacturing experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PCQI Certified HACCP Certified COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $62300.00 - $85800.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.
