      Halliburton has immediate opportunity for a Power Electronics Electrical Engineer located in Carrollton, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team at one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry. The ideal candidate will have Downhole Tool Design experience, specifically high temperature electronics.

      Job Duties

      • Design, simulation, development, implementation, verification and validation of Analog and Power Electronics based systems & components used in downhole applications where the systems must withstand harsh environments and exhibit high reliability
      • Development of common AC/DC and DC/DC converter topologies & inverters for motor drives
      • Knowledge of power electronics converter systems including active/passive component selection, input/output filter design, compensation circuit design and gate driver circuits
      • Experience in design and specification of power electronic magnetics and motors
      • PCB design and layout
      • Troubleshooting of power electronics and proficiency in using lab equipment
      • Working knowledge in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.)
      • Functional and qualification testing of the designed boards and sub-assemblies

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
      • Experience with Board Level Analog Design
      • Downhole Design experience
      • Experience with High Temperature Electronics
      • Experience with Power Electronics and Motor Drives
      • Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline and 4 years of related experience. Completion of a masters degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.

Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the R&D Senior Electrical Engineer, Principal Electrical Engineer up to the Advisor Electrical Engineer
