Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The R&D Seaming Technician will work as a member of a project or team performing technical seam related work requiring application of standard procedures. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential.
SAFETY AND PROCEDURES
· Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.
· Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.
· Attend and participate in all safety training, safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.
· Report all safety hazards observed. If capable, correct the safety hazard identified.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Conducts seam testing and/or pilot trials on multiple projects both independently and as a team member
· Build seams and tests scale samples/prototypes of new product concepts
· May direct activities of one or more co workers
· Generates technical reports
· Generates ideas for research or new products
· Delivers written and/oral presentations
· Designs custom equipment, methods or modifications
· Developing an understanding of the marketplace and processes
· Produces documents, summarizes and reports seam data in support of an assigned R&D project.
· Gathers and interprets data
· Uses knowledge and understanding of the seaming equipment and testing processes to suggest solutions to problems encountered in collecting data during seam testing or pilot trials. Exercises judgment on the progress of the work and makes suggestions of technical alternatives as needed
· Leads, plans, conducts, schedules and coordinates small projects

REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:
· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook
· Problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team
· Extensive knowledge of manual and auto seaming preferred
· Knowledge of seam design and related software
· Working knowledge of warp contours and patterns
Required Experience:
· Previous technical work experience preferred but not required
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma x College diploma r Bachelor Degree r Masters degree r
