    • New Jersey Reading Specialist Certificate
    • Knowledge of language development, the reading process, and the components of reading performance to assess and instruct.
    • Provide diagnostic testing to determine students reading challenges and determine reading programs appropriate to a student's reading difficulty to remediate reading challenges.
    • Plan and implement sequential learning experiences for students using a variety of instructional strategies, consistent with the district and school's philosophy, mission statement, instructional goals, school level objectives, and the current NJ Curriculum Standards.
    • Engage learners in small groups for a range of specific strategies and activities to increase reading skills.
    • Identify and select appropriate texts and materials to match students' strengths and needs and promote knowledge, independence, and motivation.
    • Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
    • Pending budget availability
