      As the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within the Chief Operating Office that:

      • Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy
      • Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations
      • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo
      • Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and execution

      Wells Fargo is seeking a Real Estate Appraiser Trainee. This is an entry level position enrolled in the Wells Fargo Appraiser Trainee program with an expectation the candidate will complete the required educational and field experience criteria to become a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser in their state of residency. While initially working under direct supervision, there is an expectation the candidate will be able to perform various duties and functions with increased independence as skills are mastered. Once the candidate successfully completes this program, there is an opportunity for advancement. There are production goals as well as service and quality expectations that will vary over time, along with detailed milestones of achievement as the candidate advances through the program.

      The Appraiser Trainee should reside in San Francisco County, California.

      In this role, you will:

      • Develop an understanding of the processes used in Valuations with the expectation of becoming a state certified real estate appraiser
      • Under supervision, perform valuation assignments of increasing complexity and transaction amount as experience is gained and demonstrated
      • Receive direction from management and exercise independent judgment
      • Integrate use of various technologies throughout the appraisal process
      • Interact in a professional manner with external customers during appointment setting and in person inspections of real estate
      • Interact with internal partners within the context of specific assignments

      Required Qualifications, US:

      • 6+ months of Valuations, Lending, Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
      • Valid government issued driver’s license

      Desired Qualifications:

      • BS/BA degree or higher in any field OR AA degree in Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) specified fields OR 30 semester hours of AQB specified classes
      • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
      • Experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
      • Dedicated, enthusiastic, self-driven and performance-oriented and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
      • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
      • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently in a team environment
      • Experience working successfully in a remote/virtual environment

      Job Expectations:

      • Ability to drive a motor vehicle, have access to reliable transportation and a valid, state issued driver’s license
      • Must have use of two hands or functional equivalent
      • Ability to climb up and down stairs
      • Ability to walk up and down sloped terrain and to bend
      • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

      Pay Range

      $27.74 - $49.38 Hourly
