Job summary
Receipt and Distribution Assistant is a manual handling role working as part of a team to provide a comprehensive service to the Hospital, undertaking scheduled and unscheduled movement of stock and items around the Hospital site adhering to health & safety at work and manual handling practices.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the receipt of items into stock using the trusts procurement systems. Identify miss-deliveries and accurately record details into the trusts IT systems. Be able to prioritise work loads ensuring critical items are received as they arrive. Liaise with ward areas for the safe delivery of stock.
You should be comfortable working both as part of a team and on your own. Being comfortable communicating with others is essential. Able to cope under pressure, always remain positive and focused. Ensure the departmental protocols and ethics are personally adhered to including time keeping dress code; cleanliness; a positive attitude to patients' visitors and colleagues alike in accordance with departmental processes and the Trust's vision and values

Prioritise as necessary in consultation with the R+D Supervisor.Ensure safe transportation of hospital equipment and stock utilising appropriate manual handling techniques.Ability to identify miss-deliveries and to accurately record stock numbers onto the trusts IT systems.
Prioritise own workload i.e. receipting or taking stock out.Assess Health and Risk requirements i.e. manual handling and use of additional mechanical aids if necessary.
All staff within the team have access to training and development opportunities, including support for a professional procurement qualification. The Trust offers a wide range of active staff groups including our network groups for LGBTQ+, Disability, and SOAR for our Black, Asian and ethnic minority colleagues and allies. Membership and participation in these networks is encouraged.
