      Job summary

      Do you have excellent customer service skills and thrive in a busy environment? We are looking for both part and full time receptionist's to join our large, friendly GP Surgery. You will be required to work some Saturday mornings on a rota basis. You will handle telephone calls in a positive and efficient manner; assist with front desk duties and general administration. Reception and Customer Service experience preferred.

      Hours required Mon 8am - 2 pm, Tues 8 am - 6 pm, Weds 8 am - 1 pm & Friday 8am - 6 pm.

      Main duties of the job

      As part of a team, to cover receptionist duties on a rota basis in a professional, confidential and caring manner to provide maximum levels of patient care and promote the surgery in a positive manner. To contribute to the smooth and efficient running of reception undertaking tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.

      We are a three site practice and you will be required to work at all three sites.

      South Street Surgery operates from three premises in the town of Bishops Stortford, providing services for about 24,000 patients.

      We work closely with the other local practices in Stort Valley and Villages PCN to develop our vision for the future of Primary Care Services in this area.

      Bishops Stortford is a thriving town, with excellent schools and facilities. We are in easy reach of London and Cambridge.

      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      To contribute to the smooth and efficient running of reception undertaking tasks delegated by the Head Receptionists ensuring deadlines are met referring any problems to your supervisor. Responsibilities

      Provide the maximum level of patient service.

      Ensure patients are dealt with whilst employing the maximum level of confidentiality and understanding.

      Maintain a high standard of work under pressure.

      Deal with all issues with the utmost discretion and observe the strictest confidentiality in all aspects of work.

      Answering the telephone lines promptly and professionally taking and passing on accurate messages by task or email as appropriate. At the request of the GPs, return telephone calls on their behalf.

      Dealing with members of the public and other visitors to the surgery forwarding any complaints and patient feedback to the relevant Manager.

      Making appointments using the surgerys computerised system.

      Accurate inputting of data onto the system including basic scanning of documents.

      Answering enquiries face to face, by telephone and via the website dashboard e.g. changes of address, prescription requests, providing general information.

      Receiving and instructing new patients

      Issuing prescriptions and dealing with enquiries as per Practice protocol.

      Ensuring that reception areas and kept tidy and promote a professional image at all times

      Ensure that check in screens are programmed daily To assist in the training of any new reception staff

      To lock and unlock the building subject to your shift pattern.

      General reception administration duties as required and in times of extreme staff shortages to assist all members of staff at the Practice with administrative tasks when time permits.

      Processing Tasks Processing E- Consults

      Processing of payments by either cash or credit/debit card
