Job Description

- Minimum 7 years' experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v6, V7.x, and v8 in a datacenter environment.
- Installation of RHEL7 and 8 in a standalone and VMware environment.
- Proficient in managing software & system service daemons via systemd system and service manager.
- Shell scripting experience, including bash for routine system administration tasks and report creation.
- Utilization of "yum" for patching and package installation from a central repository.
- Experience with cron/crontab for periodic scheduled jobs.
- Creation & management of filesystems and volumes using LVM, as well as partitioning of disk devices.
- System performance analysis, log analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Expertise in TCP/IP networking, including configuration, troubleshooting, and use of tcpdump and Wireshark.
- Setup/configuration of network interfaces and typical networked services such as DNS, NTP, NFS, FTP, SFTP, SSH, Apache HTTPD, CIFS, SMB/Samba, syslog/rsyslog.
- Implementation of security hardening practices, including RHEL7’s firewalld.
- Knowledge of SSH authentication techniques (password, key-based).
- Proficiency in sudo, sudoers file, and "sudoers.d" directory.
- Configuration of Grub to control Linux boot and system parameters.
- Preparation of technical documentation for staff and management, including technical procedures, operational & network flow descriptions, performance reports, etc.
- Creation of periodic reports documenting job activities.
- RHCSA (Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator – RHEL V7.x and/or RHEL V8.x) - Required.
- Minimum 7 years' experience with Red Hat Enterprise v7.x and v8.x - Required.
- Minimum 2 years' working experience in RH version upgrades; specifically RH7 to RH8 - Required.
- Familiarity with system tuning & setup requirements for Oracle RDBMS utilizing ASM disks - Required.
- Knowledge of rsyslog and a web server (apache preferred) - Required.
- Postfix SMTP gateway - Desired.
- Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP (as a "client" of these services, not as an administrator under Windows) - Desired.
- Systems programming language (Python preferred, or Perl) - Desired.
