      The Regional Lead Nurse will: provide professional communication, health care support and education to campuses; meet all the requirements to practice as a licensed Registered Nurse; assist campus health staffers to identify and manage student health conditions, ensure immunization compliance and provide orientation and instruction as needed to ensure the safety of our students; participate in the organization's plans and directives to provide best practice for health staffers, staff and students; provide CPR First Aid, Diabetic training, seizure First Aid and any other guidance throughout the organization as it relates to health services; assist in creating written health policies and procedures and communicate the requirements to campuses, maintain and monitor compliance reporting as required by state and federal entities; Assist campuses and director with budgets, ordering, supply maintinence; help to establish QSR health requirements and monitor campus compliance; participate in inspections and audits as they relate to health services.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification and Experience

      • Graduated from an approved RN program by the Texas BON and an BSN preferred
      • CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor certification
      • Student Health Screening Certification (Hearing, and Vision, Scoliosis)

      Experience

      • 2+ years’ experience as a school nurse
      • 2+ years’ experience managing others

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Advanced knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
      • Advanced knowledge of child growth and development
      • Critical thinking and assessment skills
      • Conflict resolution and management skills
      • Multitasking with triage experience
      • Knowledge and comfortability with computer applications, google, word, excel and EHRs.
      • Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
      • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health service
      • Ability to identify abnormal growth and development and symptoms of disease
      • Highly articulated written and verbal communication
      • Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agency, and other community resources
      • Ability to develop and maintain health records on students
      • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and the community at large
      • Ability to coordinate travel details and drive a vehicle.
      • Be responsible for travel and supply budgets.

      Core Responsibilities

      • Regional coordination and oversight of campus health service requirements
      • Enforces policies, procedures and work standards for campus health services
      • Monitors compliance of campus health service with federal, state, and local laws and policies
      • Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services as needed
      • Monitors security of school health supplies and confidential information according to HIPPA
      • Serves as a resource person for the district on health issues
      • Provides follow up evaluations on campus health services as requested
      • Corresponds with health staffers, campus parents and directors on health needs of students
      • Reports any signs of physical or mental abuse to the appropriate authorities
      • Monitors campus use of proper documentation and administration of prescribed medications to students according to their doctors requirements and according to state and federal laws that regulate public and private schools
      • Oversight of emergency process, drills and equipment at campuses (ie: epipens, narcan and AEDs)
      • All other duties as assigned
      • Be able to travel frequently and for prolonged periods as required
