What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide field access support services and education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) to maximize patient access to company products
- Communicate with specialty pharmacies and patient-physician services in support of marketed products
- Train HCPs on payer-specific coverage policies, documentation requirements, and patient financial assistance programs
- Introduce technology options for electronic patient access submission and assist with coverage issues
- Build and maintain relationships with pharmacies and HCPs to resolve coverage problems for prescriptions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS/BA degree in a related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years in specialty pharmacy/market access
- Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, and pharmacy benefit managers
- Excellent knowledge of patient support programs and the prescription adjudication process
- Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes
- Ability to travel overnight up to 60%
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred AND 4+ years of related experience OR PharmD or PhD AND 2+ years of related experience
- Previous experience in other functions in pharma/biotech, such as sales, management, or marketing
- Familiarity with current issues within the pharmaceutical industry and national healthcare system
- Developing reputation inside the company related to area of expertise
- Excellent project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally
