What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Build and maintain relationships with pharmacies, physicians, and healthcare professionals to resolve coverage issues for prescriptions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with field sales and market access teams to enhance patient access to products
- Provide training and education to healthcare professionals on payer-specific coverage policies and patient financial assistance programs
- Introduce technology options for electronic Patient Access submissions and assist with documentation requirements
- Monitor and communicate opportunities and challenges related to patient access to management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS/BA degree in a related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years in specialty pharmacy/market access
- Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, and their impact on product access
- Excellent knowledge of patient support programs and reimbursement support
- Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% of the time
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred AND 4+ years of related experience
- PharmD or PhD with 2+ years of related experience
- Previous experience in sales, management, marketing, or managed markets within pharma/biotech
- Familiarity with current issues in the pharmaceutical industry and national healthcare system
- Strong project management skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment
