      What you will be doing

      As a Regional Pharmacy Business Coach, you will have the unique opportunity to build strong relationships with small, independent pharmacy owners and stakeholders, coaching them on ways to create positive changes in their businesses. As part of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy franchise program that is operated by AmerisourceBergen, our goal is to improve the profitability and long-term health of the pharmacies by examining opportunities in labor, inventory management, marketing, pricing, staff development, and more.

      After an opportunity for improvement is identified, the Pharmacy Business Consultant utilizes multiple benchmarks and resources to create a case for change with individual stores throughout their assigned territory. The Pharmacy Business Consultant provides ongoing support and motivation to drive each store’s ongoing success through attracting new patients, retaining existing ones, and operating their pharmacy business more efficiently in an effort to help them remain competitive in the marketplace.

      This position will be supporting independent pharmacies in Texas. The ideal candidate will live within this territory.

      As a Pharmacy Business Consultant, a typical day might include:

      • Continually driving program value by building relationships, identifying opportunities of improvement, persuading retail pharmacies to address these opportunities, and ultimately holding customers accountable for change

      • Addressing existing problems within basic pharmacy functional areas to identify potential areas of weakness within the operation

      • Acting as an instructor and subject matter expert to provide advice, guidance and feedback on store operations and business strategy

      • Developing and maintaining a strong base of working knowledge of the retail market including industry trends, competitive intelligence, and external industry challenges

      • Creating tailored action plans based on each store’s individual opportunities and supporting their implementation

      What your background should look like

      • Working knowledge of the retail pharmacy industry including trends and challenges facing customers

      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and the ability to adapt communication style to various audiences

      • Ability to actively listen and influence others with different points of view

      • Advanced knowledge and understanding of value, profit, and budgeting

      • Advanced knowledge of techniques to improve profitability of a small business

      • Requires broad training generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor’s Degree Program

      • Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years industry experience and/or directly related and progressively responsible experience.

      • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory up to 70%-75%

      Nice to have

      • Bilingual in Spanish

      • Retail pharmacy business experience, highly preferred

      • Experience analyzing financial and income statements
