What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate with the Alabama Department of Mental Health on housing and crisis slot issues in Region IV
- Collect, track, and report utilization review data from community mental health centers
- Conduct monthly Discharge Planning Conference calls with service providers to discuss at-risk service recipients
- Act as a liaison for service recipients, coordinating discharges into residential services
- Maintain a thorough understanding of community mental health center-operated housing and residential services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of post-master’s clinical experience
- Valid Alabama driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based tools for data management and communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for data presentation and reporting
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience providing clinical services in a residential or inpatient clinical setting
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adults with serious mental illness (SMI)
- Familiarity with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders
- Understanding of utilization review principles and quality improvement in mental health settings
- Knowledge of available regional and community resources
