      Job Description

      The Regional Vice President (RVP) leads the execution of the business strategy in his/her region to maximize returns and meet customer expectations. The RVP oversees all operations within his/her region and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. This role also serves as a liaison between the corporate leadership team and field operations, providing input on opportunities for improvement and influencing the corporate strategy around field initiatives. The RVP is also closely involved in the development of initiatives to drive key financial, customer experience, and process efficiency outcomes. Measures of success for this position include regional revenue, regional market share, IBD, margin, customer and employee satisfaction measures, etc.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Develop and implement strategies for driving market share growth in the region.

      • Provide input to appropriate financial targets for individual markets and locations in the region and ensure the successful execution of those targets.

      • Oversee the resolution of potential operational issues that may hinder the ability to perform as planned in the region; take corrective action as necessary.

      • Prepare, implement and monitor annual budget to determine effectiveness of budget plan; review all financials to determine that budget is within guidelines. Monitor profits and efficiency through cash flow performance.

      • Build relationships with key customers in the region and ensure the markets are consistently meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction standards.

      • Represent the voice of field operations on major corporate initiatives impacting the field. Provide input on opportunities that may exist to develop new processes/standards to improve overall company performance.

      • Provide overall management of General Managers within assigned region. Foster open communication with management, and clearly communicate importance of team’s vision, objectives and priorities.

      • Effectively lead auction General Managers to champion Cox Automotive values and ensure all team members are treated with respect; create a pro-team member open door work environment.

      • Establish performance metrics/expectations for General Managers and hold them accountable for results.

      • Develops and executes on operational plans, policies and procedures for National Auction platforms and solutions, holding day-to-day accountability for operational effectiveness and alignment with the broader Physical Inventory Services strategic objectives.

      • Partner with other RVPs to share best practices, better serve shared or similar clients, and share talent.

      • Develop auction team members, including creating intentional experiences to build general athletes.

      • Drive consistent and exemplary client and team member experience across the Region.

      • Evaluate trends with dealers and commercial clients to proactively devise corrective plans as needed and strengthen relationships to increase revenue sources.

      • Address performance issues (people, process, client) that affect profits in order of priority.

      • Balance long range strategic company initiatives while executing on shorter term, practical efforts that have an immediate and visible impact.

      • Using a data-driven approach, identify and implement operational process improvements that can scale across the Region.

      • Ensure Manheim and CAI strategic and operational priorities, policies and procedures are operationalized across the Region at all levels and departments to reach optimal efficiencies.

      • Collect and use operational and sales data to evaluate Region productivity, forecast work volume, devise corrective plans to drive revenue sources and operational efficiencies for the Region, and present recommendations to leadership and boundary partners.

      • Promote a culture of safety and champion Cox Conserves initiatives.

      • Applies analytical tools and market data to systematically evaluate options and execute decisions, based upon a clear understanding of market dynamics, market/customer segmentation, and customer behavior and needs.

      • Manages key client relationships, resolves service delivery challenges, ensures the consistent delivery of the desired client experience, and connects customers with other areas of the organization to bridge cross-service/product issues.

      • Works closely with operations and service leaders to embed a continuous improvement mindset in aligning products, services, and capabilities toward desired outcomes.

      • Maintains a close understanding of evolving customer and consumer trends and needs and develops plans and aligns resources and capabilities to meet and anticipate customer needs in the long term.

      • Develops recommendations for changes to the Manheim Physical Marketplace capability requirements and capital investments and utilizes deep market expertise to support business case development.

      • Works with functional partners (Product & Tech, Marketing, Sales, Finance, People Solutions, Business Services, Vehicle Solutions) to execute priorities, objectives and strategies that support the solution strategy.

      REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

      • BA/BS degree required + 16 or more years of relevant work experience required in related field with at least 10 years in a leadership role

      • OR MS degree + 14 years of experience

      • OR Ph.D. degree + 11 years of experience

      • Experience in the automotive or Auction industry required.

      • Effective and competent management, leadership and organizational skills required.

      • Knowledge of sales building initiatives, P&L and the ability to act decisively based on sound judgment.

      • Ability to achieve business results through influence, executive presence, strategic thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.

      • Knowledge of Automotive industry trends, customer behaviors, and enabling technological capabilities

      • Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.

      • Must live in the Eastern Standard or Central Standard Time Zone.

      ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

      Directly contributes to the establishment of business strategies that have a long term (3-5 year) impact on the corporate organization.

      COMMUNICATION

      Frequently requires the ability to negotiate with internal parties where there may be conflicting objectives and the need for compromise to reach agreement. Typically involves navigating differing points of view and engaging in debate where there is a "win loss" scenario between the two parties.

      Directly responsible for making enhancements or adding value to existing processes, systems or products as part of day-to-day activities. Job requires the ability to analyze and resolve issues that affect operational, financial and human dimensions.

      KNOWLEDGE

      • Requires broad management experience across several functional areas or businesses, or concentrated knowledge of a particular discipline.

      • Management responsibility for multiple teams including the responsibility for the management of his/her direct reports (hiring/firing decisions, performance reviews, etc.) as well as oversight for team structures and accountabilities.

      • Responsible for operations within a continental region (i.e., North America, West, East, Central, Southeast).
